Cindy Cota

Cindy Cota is Director of Managed Medicaid Growth and Innovation for Volunteers of America, Inc.  Volunteers of America is a community based organization providing health and human services.  Ms. Cota leads new projects and partnership growth focused on whole person health and social drivers of health.  Ms. Cota implements the Determined Health Community Health Worker model across Volunteers of America. 

Ms. Cota is also the program director for Volunteers of America’s participation in the newly formed Public Health AmeriCorps program.  Public Health AmeriCorps, a partnership with the CDC and AmeriCorps, will place AmeriCorps members as Community Health Workers.  As a two time AmeriCorps alumnus, Ms. Cota is excited to lead this program.  She sees Community Health Workers as essential to helping individuals and communities achieve optimal health and as a part of the solution to achieving health equity.   

Prior to Volunteers of America, Ms. Cota held roles in Population Health at a managed care organization and she served in leadership roles at a children’s behavioral health agency.  Ms. Cota holds a master’s degree in social work from Fordham University and she is a licensed independent clinical social worker in the District of Columbia.  Ms. Cota started her career providing community based services in California, New York, Massachusetts, and Washington, DC.  She was honored by the Westchester County Community Mental Health Department for her commitment to children’s mental health in New York.  Ms. Cota is trained in evidenced based practices including trauma informed care and crisis intervention.

Transfers, Cancellations and Refunds Policy

Registrants may transfer their registration to another person at any time by notifying Gabby Palmieri ([email protected]) in writing. Cancellations must be made in writing to Lindsey Beck ([email protected]). Refunds minus a 20% service charge are available for cancellations received in writing 45 days or more prior to the start of the conference. No refunds are available thereafter.
