
James (Jim) Stringham
Jim Stringham serves as VP/CEO for Banner Government Health Plans (BGHP). In this role, Jim oversees Banner’s continued health plan growth in central and southern Arizona. BGHP provides services for nearly 350,000 members across the AHCCCS Complete Care (ACC), Arizona Long Term Care (ALTCS) and Dual Eligible Special Need Plan (DSNP) plans, as well as Banner Medicare Advantage plans – HMO and PPO. He is responsible for ensuring strong relationships with the state and federal regulators, providers and community partners and is accountable for the financial and operational success of the programs.
Before BGHP, Jim was the CEO for Magellan Complete Care of Arizona, overseeing Magellan’s recent expansion in the Arizona Complete Care market. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of operations for Magellan Healthcare, and directly oversaw Magellan’s national public sector contracts including the financial, clinical, and operational direction of care management centers, and led the business implementation of new markets. He led numerous successful state-wide implementations for Magellan along with mergers & acquisition work in multiple states. He worked closely with various partner organizations, including government agencies focusing on behavioral health, individuals with developmental disabilities, children and families, juvenile justice and vocational rehabilitation.
Jim has over 25 years of experience in public healthcare through positions in clinical operations, stakeholder relations, training and development, and network development and management.
Jim has a master’s degree in counseling, is a Valley Leadership Alum (Class 31), advises and/or sits on the boards of the Association for Community Affiliated Plans, Community Arizona Association of Health Plans, Home Matters to Arizona, Contexture Health, and the Chandler Compadres. He also volunteers time with several Arizona-based not-for-profit organizations. In addition, he participated in the Alliance for Health Policy – Mental Health in America Summit – examining real world perspectives to develop hallmarks of a quality mental health system. Jim enjoys traveling, playing golf and coaching youth sports. Jim is married to Katie Stringham and they have two boys, Russel (21) and James (18).

Transfers, Cancellations and Refunds Policy
Registrants may transfer their registration to another person at any time by notifying Gabby Palmieri ([email protected]) in writing. Cancellations must be made in writing to Lindsey Beck ([email protected]). Refunds minus a 20% service charge are available for cancellations received in writing 45 days or more prior to the start of the conference. No refunds are available thereafter.
