Mark Sasvary, PhD, LCSW

Dr. Sasvary is Chief Clinical Officer of Coordinated Behavioral Health Services (CBHS) which is an independent practice association comprised of 25 member agencies providing community behavioral health services in the Hudson Valley region of New York. The CBHS network also includes close to 50 community-based organizations addressing social drivers of health. The CBHS network serves over 100,000 people a year comprising a complex population primarily covered by Medicaid and Medicare. CBHS supports member and network agencies in providing cost-effective, outcome-based, and person-centered services that are increasingly necessary for the transition to value-based payment systems of care. At CBHS Dr. Sasvary has been part of many initiatives including the management of a Level 2 total cost of care value-based contract covering the lives of 12,000 enrollees in managed Medicaid and the development of innovative technology solutions such as a referral management platform, claims-based analytics, and a population health management system. Prior to working at CBHS Dr. Sasvary worked at a community behavioral health agency for 10 years where he started as a frontline clinician, then served in leadership roles including interim president before joining CBHS. Dr. Sasvary received his PhD in 2021 and his dissertation focused on evidence-based practices for the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder for people with severe mental illness with Medicaid receiving community mental health services.
