Aingyea Fraser, program officer, joined the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) as a program associate in May 2018. With her background in developing the infrastructure and resources that benefit diverse communities, she supports the Foundation’s efforts to promote effective health and healthcare systems nationwide. She enjoys “working closely with people, programs, and potentialities to help achieve health equity and build a Culture of Health.”
Aingyea joined RWJF from Equal Measure in Philadelphia, a thought partner in program design and evaluation for complex social issues to help create systems change. She worked with funders, researchers, evaluators, educators, and other stakeholders to develop policy and practice interventions that can improve the lives of boys and men of color. The program leveraged more than $8 million in grants to build an understanding of asset-based strategies for improving education, health, justice, and workforce development outcomes among boys and men of color.
Before joining Equal Measure, Aingyea was a program associate with Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) in Washington, D.C. In this role, she directed PCORI’s Ambassador Program, a volunteer initiative of more than 100 geographically, ethnically, and professionally-diverse patients and caregivers trained in health research. Earlier, she served as Special Assistant to the Director of the City of Indianapolis Front Porch Alliance, an initiative of the Mayor’s Office that focuses on building partnerships with various community groups interested in creating solutions to lower the prevalence of diabetes, asthma, obesity, and hunger.
Aingyea received a Master of Public Administration from Baruch College School of Public Affairs, where she was a National Urban Fellow. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies from Rutgers University.
A proud Trenton, N.J. native, she currently resides with her husband and two children in Maryland. She enjoys traveling like a local, live music, gardening, furniture refurbishing, and other DIY home projects.
