Anthony Thompson joined Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan (CDPHP) in April 2024 and currently serves as senior vice president, healthcare network strategy for the region’s premier physician-founded, not-for-profit, community-based health plan serving 400,000 members in 36 counties across New York. In this role, Anthony will lead the expansion of the CDPHP provider network through strategic partnerships that improve the quality, affordability, and experience of patient care. With a career spanning eighteen years in health care and accounting, with a primary focus on value-based reimbursement models, risk analysis, population health, and health plan operations, Anthony offers deep experience in health plan operations, contract negotiation, reporting, strategic planning, and program development.

Prior to CDPHP, Anthony served as New York market president for Yuvo Health, a leading technology and administrative solution firm uniquely designed to provide Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) an advantage in value-based contracting. He also served as risk strategy director for Elevance Health (formerly Anthem), where his primary focus was on innovative payment models, such as bundled payments and shared risk arrangements. While at Elevance, Anthony also served as program director for the New York Medicaid market, where he was responsible for the development, execution, and management of the Provider Collaboration Initiative, the organization’s value-based arrangements for Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program.

As director of marketing operations analysis at Amerigroup Corporation, a health insurance partner that offers Medicare and Medicaid coverage, Anthony managed the marketing operations support team while analyzing marketing trends and anomalies for strategy development and decision-value tracking. Earlier in his career, he honed his experience in financial analysis and reporting having spent more than five years working for Warner Music and Deloitte & Touche as a financial reporting analyst and staff auditor, respectively.

Anthony earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Berkeley College where he graduated magna cum laude.
